About S.P.A.C.E.

Blues on the North Shore kicks off the celebration of Blues Fest on June 4, 2008 at SPACE in Evanston. That’s right.  The new and lovely, 240 seat cozy live music venue in your own backyard is where the blues fun begins. SPACE is located 1245 Chicago Ave. (Dempster & Chicago) and is Evanston's newest eatery and live performance space.

 Listen to This!

2008 Grammy Award Winner and Blues Legend, David “Honeyboy” Edwards will be there. Grammy nominated, Skokie native and Alligator Recording Artist, Eddy “The Chief” Clearwater will be there. Sirens Recording Artist, Barrelhouse Chuck, a piano player so excellent and so authentic that Beyonce Knowles called him to give her new movie “Cadillac Records” the exact sound it needs.

There’s more!  We will have four generations of blues performers ready to bring down the house. That’s what’s happening on June 4th.

Benefit

A portion of all proceeds will go to benefit this years Grammy nominated blues foundation, The Blue Shoe Project which won the Grammy for Best Traditional Blues album for their cd, LAST OF THE GREAT MISSISSIPPI DELTA BLUESMEN~ LIVE IN DALLAS.  This Grammy winning cd features blues legends who honed their craft in Chicago, Pinetop Perkins (96 years old), Henry 'The Mule' Townsend, Robert Lockwood, Jr. and our very own, David 'Honeyboy' Edwards (92).  This first concert honors our own living blues legend, David 'Honeyboy' Edwards.
